After Delta, now the Delta Plus variant is ready to cause havoc

Delta plus variant starts spreading in many states-

In the second wave of corona in India, the delta variant of Covid-19 caused a horrific catastrophe. The number of corona cases in India had reached more than four lakhs in a day. At that time, Lakhs of people had also lost their lives due to the Delta variant. After this, all the states imposed lockdown in their respective states. gradually now the situation is coming under control. Corona cases have started coming in less than 50,000 in the country. Corona cases in Delhi have come down from 25000 in April to around 150 in a day.  Now there is a new variant Delta Plus which has become the cause of concern to the state governments. The Delta Plus variant has found in people infected with a corona in about eight states in India. This situation has increased the risk of the Delta Plus variant spreading in the country.  Delta Plus variant is more lethal than the Delta variant. Health Ministry has written a letter to eight states asking them to take special measures to deal with the Delta Plus variant. The Union Health Secretary has written a letter asking all the eight states to take all necessary steps to stop the Delta Plus variant. These eight states are – Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu.

The Delta Plus variant can severely affect the human lungs and have a very high rate of contamination. In such a situation, it has become crucial to adopt measures to control it at the earliest. In the letter, the Union Health Secretary has talked about adopting methods like containment and contact tracing.

The Government of India has started a massive vaccination campaign to avoid the third wave in the country and protect its people from variants like Delta Plus.  According to the available sources and information, vaccines seem to be the most effective means of fighting Covid-19 so far.

Many more measures have taken to avoid variants like Delta Plus of covid-19. For this, the government is trying to increase the number of tests. Efforts are being made to maintain social distancing at crowded places.  Genome Sequencing of the corona is also being done rapidly by taking samples from corona infected patients so that if a new variant comes, it can be identified quickly so that suitable action can be taken to control it at the right time.
